The Story Behind Slow Harvest
There are some collections that come together quickly.
And then there are collections that quietly change you while you're creating them.
Slow Harvest became one of those collections.
When I first started sketching ideas, I thought I was simply designing another group of botanical patterns. But over the following months, the collection grew into something much more personal.
Earlier this year I had to step away from my business for a while.
Instead of rushing from one idea to the next, I found myself slowing down and noticing the small things that often go unseen.
Seed heads waiting for the wind.
Dry grasses catching the afternoon light.
The intricate beauty of thorny branches.
These quiet moments became the inspiration for Slow Harvest.
Rather than celebrating flowers in full bloom, this collection celebrates what comes afterwards—the seeds, the textures and the promise of new growth.
It became a reminder that beautiful things don't always arrive quickly.
Sometimes they need time.
As the collection developed, I realised I wasn't only designing patterns. I was learning to trust a slower creative process, one that allowed ideas to mature instead of forcing them to happen.
Over the next few weeks I'll be sharing more of the journey behind Slow Harvest, from the early sketches and design process to the finished collection.
I hope you'll enjoy following along.
Thank you for being here and supporting my creative journey.
