Hi, I’m Elbé, the illustrator and surface pattern designer behind Pikapattern Studio.

I’m so glad you’re here. Pikapattern is my little creative studio — a place that is constantly changing and evolving as I draw, paint, experiment and turn the things that inspire me into patterns and objects.

Nothing here is mass produced. Most of what you find in the studio begins with a moment, a place, a person or something in nature that made me stop and notice. I love the idea that these pieces can eventually find their way into someone else’s home and become part of their story too.

I hope you enjoy looking around and discovering the things I’ve noticed, made and loved enough to share.

Every Pattern Collection begins with noticing.

THE HEART OF PIKAPATTERN

I believe curiosity is one of the things that keeps us connected to the world around us — the instinct to look closer, to notice, to wonder.

A leaf. A flower. A seed pod. A weathered wall. A changing landscape.

These small details often go unnoticed, yet they can hold colour, character, memory and meaning.

Through surface pattern design and illustration, I translate these observations into artwork that carries a story.

Each collection begins by gathering: fragments of nature, memories, colours, shapes and details from everyday life. I then draw, arrange and transform them into patterns and illustrations designed to become part of the spaces we live in.

Pikapattern is ultimately about paying attention.

In a world that constantly asks us to look ahead, I want my work to offer a reason to pause, look closer and appreciate what is already around us.

FROM ARTWORK TO SOMETHING YOU CAN LIVE WITH

I love the idea that art doesn't have to stay on a wall.

An illustration can become a tea towel in the kitchen, a runner on a table shared with friends, a cushion in a favourite corner, or a print that brings colour and character to a room.

These are everyday objects, but I believe they can be more than simply useful. They can carry a little piece of the story, place or moment that inspired them. There is something wonderfully human about making things by hand, noticing the details, making choices, and allowing a little imperfection to remain.

I love the process and the sometimes messy struggle behind creating surface pattern designs — especially the way an illustration can move beyond the page and become part of everyday life.

That is what I hope Pikapattern can offer: artwork that isn't simply looked at, but lived with.

WHY PATTERN?

Pattern has the power to hold memory, mark moments and become part of the spaces we live in.

Through colour, repetition and movement, each Pikapattern collection reflects a season of life — the quiet ones, the joyful ones, and everything in between.

I love that a pattern can begin as a drawing and find its way into everyday life: onto a table, into a favourite corner, or into a room filled with the people and things we love.

My hope is that Pikapattern becomes part of your story too — inviting you to slow down, notice the details and find beauty in the familiar.
